Xenonauts is played in an alternate world. It starts in the year 1979 at which time the United States and the Soviet Union were locked in a struggle as part of the Cold War. Earth is invaded by hostile aliens. America and the USSR team up to fight the aliens.
Recruit soldiers workers and scientists and work towards building and upgrading your base to develop the latest weaponry and strengthen your defense. Wage tactical turn-based battles in specific arenas, supported by ground vehicles, or take to the air in suspenseful 3-on-3 aerial combat to send UFOs packing. Arm your troops with the best in firearms close-combat tools, and search alien ships to steal their technologies to your advantage. Research the alien structure, including the highly intelligent and strategically-minded High Praetor, to uncover information to help turn the fight around.
In Xenonauts, 8 soldiers can be taken into a mission. Each fighter differs by appearance, name, characteristics, and 3 scales. In turn-based battles, you need to control each Xenonaut in turn. Having at least a sniper rifle, pistol, or any firearm in the arsenal, an earthling can attack, study an object, hide, move to another place in 1 turn.
