My Time at Sandrock is an open survival simulation mixed with a classic role-playing game setting taking place in a fictional world that endured the apocalypse over 300 years prior. The main character has a daunting challenge – to recover the city of Sandrock and bring it to what it once was – a prosperous city. This is very challenging because of the largely limited resources and generally unsuitable nature of the soils for agriculture in most parts. In a very skillful manner, this player has to avoid accumulating the available benefits and thereby ensure that the city entrusted under his control is continuously growing.

It is fully open world by which one can go around looking for valuable objects and buildings materials, beautiful sceneries, and also the dungeons. Many dangerous creatures live far below the ground, but they have precious loot that falls out after their death, and, as a rule, they guard chests with legendary things, tools, etc.

Apart from traveling and constructing the confined city the developers invite the player to proceed through the greatest storyline which includes 30 quests of different degree of hardness. On their way, the virtual protégé will encounter quite many strangers all of whom will be courteous – a rare virtue for residents of the area around Sandrok. Thus the gamer completes his assignments and the NPCs start liking him and he invites them to live in the developing town.
