Okay let’s cut to the chase – Hooptown Hero is a three on three, single-player roguelike arcade basketball game where basketball is not only a game but a culture. Hooptown is this quirky little Midwestern city that reminds everybody about basketball every year through three amazing leagues. Every part of that town comes in remove teams fielding players from different sponsoring companies. And then you have your uncle Bill, the man who always wanted to make a fortune out of probably at least 5 different business ventures. This year his goal is that you turn into the next Hooptown hero. Do you have the skills to bring it all into the realisation?

In Hooptown, the only thing that is a priority is to get on top of your leagues and become that City Champion. Essentially you will be running court with smooth moves, creating CLUTCH to perform serious critical moments’ plays and exciting shooting gallery to gather HOOP COINS. These coins? They’re your golden ticket to the General Store for items, and weapon and armor upgrades to increase the stats of your player character. And of course do not forget to bang those high fives since the team spirit is always on. Being able to directly control your squad and being able to make quick play calls means that you’ve got all the tools necessary to outperform the opponent.

At higher levels there are indeed all sorts of crazy moves: hook shots, artifacts collected in Hooptown’s trash cans (seriously), different positions with advantages and disadvantages for the player. Between seasons you can invest your totally legal sponsor dollars into change that lasts – making your team more formidable, improved, enhanced, and yep – stronger. The question is: will you come out shining successful or will you fail your Uncle Bill? Hooptown is still waiting to know that.
