Grounded is a thrilling survival adventure set in the year 1990 that takes players to discover how a group of teenagers who stumble upon a mysterious experiment that reduces them to the size of ants and leave them stranded in their own backyard to now navigate this dangerous world but miniature in scale while attempting to solve the mystery surrounding the situation and finding their way back to normal size. This game can be accessed in first-person as well as third-person perspective, placing the player into a survival-based scenario.

The player has to navigate through a changed backyard full of giant obstacles. Survival is highly resource-intensive, forcing the players to rummage for food and drink dew drops lest they should dehydrate. Spiders are always on call and ready to leap at the reduced heroes every minute; however, all creatures are not pests, for example, the ladybugs can tell where the food lies in short periods of time outside of otherwise hostile environment.

Exploration expands as more of the backyard becomes accessible, with increasingly challenging and stronger enemies. Collecting resources is very important allowing players to craft essential tools like spears bows and axes or even construct shelters to endure attacks from nocturnal predators. Combat is a strategy, since long fights deplete energy, hastening the need for sustenance. The game merges survival with exploration and crafting perfectly to deliver the experience of how a relatively simple backyard transforms into a large, risky world.
